If racing, films, or new cultural experiences peak your interest, we have some events that are right up your alley! Take a look at these top five events in the yacht world calendar!

1. Monaco Grand Prix

Held since 1929, this thrilling 77-lap race usually occurs every year in May amid the backdrop of soaring skyscrapers and hotels. Laid out across the tight streets of Monte Carlo, Monaco Grand Prix is known for its glamor, prestige, and distinctive course. With the Cannes Film Festival taking place weeks prior, you’re sure to spot many celebrities. Berthing in Port Hercules gives you stunning views of the track, but it’s recommended to book well in advance to secure a spot.

Occurring just a few weeks prior to Monaco Grand Prix, the Cannes Film Festival adds even more elegance to the already exquisite French Riviera. This event attracts celebrities and the biggest names in the film industry to Cannes for 11 days of film screenings, red carpets, and elite celebrations. The best place to be during this event is, of course, on a lavish yacht, right on the forefront of all the action!

3. Copa del Rey Regatta

Translated to “King’s Cup” and held mid-summer in the Bay of Palma de Mallorca, this sailing competition attracts sailors from all over the world. The pleasant sailing conditions and unbeatable views have contributed to making this one of the top events in the yachting world. If you’re not a sports or competitive person, you soon will be after watching this exceptional competition.

4. Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez

Featuring over 300 of the world’s finest yachts and 4,000 sailors, you’ll leave this unbeatable event with the most magnificent photos and high expectations. Usually held at the end of September and lasting until the first few days of October, you’ll find that Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez’s land and water events feature never-before-seen competition and action.

5. Expo 2020 Dubai

According to Ocean Independence, this is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East! With the them “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” this Expo will be held October 20, 2020-April 10, 2021 and will feature a showcase of events, attractions, delectable dishes, and more. Over the course of six months, the purpose of it is to unite countries and accelerate and stimulate world solutions to protect the earth. Dubai South anticipates over 25 million visits!
