While yachting during any season is a treat, doing so in the fall is particularly special. Not only is the weather a bit cooler, but you can also travel in peace without the normal crowded scenes during popular travel times. Here are some lovely destinations that are perfect for yachting in the fall:
Athens, Greece

Tropical Athens is known for exceptional architecture, unique art, and much more. The yacht charter season is typically March-November but visiting in the fall is more beneficial for a variety of reasons. The summer months are usually busier, with the number of tourists being much higher than the rest of the year. That means that there is more of a chance of booking an affordable charter, along with having more of the island to yourself! The temperatures are also especially ideal, with steady Maestro winds and no Meltemi winds.
When you’re not basking in the glowing sun, you may want to visit some popular destinations or attractions. Top travel spots include Acropolis, Parthenon, and the National Archaeological Museum. With such relaxing temperatures, you can comfortably explore the city all day and maybe even manage to get a radiant tan. Be sure to bring your camera because this phenomenal location is extremely picturesque!
Sardinia, Italy

Renowned for its striking beaches, this region has a plethora of landscapes and architecture for you to explore. The hottest months are July and August, while the winters are typically rainy with mild temperatures. If you are looking to avoid the crowds and scorching, uncomfortable temperatures, consider visiting Sardinia in the fall. During this time, it is warm enough to swim and partake in other outdoor activities without worrying about getting sunburned.
In addition to walking the sandy beaches, you can also visit a fairy’s house, explore caves, visit hidden churches, and much more. Tourists also find that cycling is a great adventurous way to sightsee, as they can avoid congested beaches and resorts.
Thailand

Called ‘shoulder-season’ in October, Thailand fall typically means less tourists and affordable travel rates. While there are showers, there is also sunshine and blue skies. Umbrellas can be bought at one of the many markets for a reasonable price. These will come in handy if you plan on spending most of your time outdoors.
A distinctive, highly recommended event in Thailand is the Chong Para Festival. Known in Thai as Awk Phansa, this October ceremony marks the end of rain with ceremonies and religious events. They also hold boat races and a Vegetarian Festival in Phuket and Bangkok’s Chinatown. There is no better way to familiarize yourself with the culture then to be immersed in their food and customs.
Corsica, France

If you love the sea but are not fond of extremely high temperatures, check out this phenomenal destination in October. With mild temperatures and open air, you will find that there are many activities for you to enjoy at your convenience. Visiting during this time offers a more hands-on hospitality experience for you and your guests, as there are usually less travelers. Consider starting off the trip at the Calanche di Piana, then exploring the gorgeous long-standing town of Calvi!
Australia

Although Australia is still under lockdown, plans and mandates are frequently changing and you can always plan to go later. In fact, autumn in (most parts of) Australia is from March to May. If you avoid visiting around Easter in March and April, you should be able to enjoy a peaceful, uncrowded vacation.
If you’re a foodie, then you’ll love the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. The festival features masterclasses, unique menus, and delicious food and drinks that will surely expand your palate. Another breathtaking experience is seeing Canberra change color. You can watch the transition from the sky in a hot air balloon, or even visit the popular National Arboretum.
